AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL LIBRARY MATERIALS STATEWIDE.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million three hundred ninety thousand dollars ($1,390,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the library division of the office of cultural affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of acquiring materials for public school libraries statewide. No more than two thousand dollars ($2,000) may be allocated to a public school library. A public school library is eligible to receive this amount only if an equal match is provided from sources other than state appropriations. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
