AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO IMPLEMENT A STATE NOXIOUS WEED CONTROL PROGRAM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to pay for the expenses of the New Mexico department of agriculture and the soil and water conservation districts statewide to implement a noxious weed control program to protect the environment and the state's economy from the impacts of noxious and exotic weed infestations. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
