AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE CULTURAL SENSITIVITY TRAINING TO DEVELOP CULTURALLY COMPETENT STAFF FOR PERSONNEL WORKING WITH NATIVE AMERICAN CHILDREN.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to provide cultural sensitivity training for personnel of the children, youth and families department who work with Native American children to prepare the staff to provide culturally competent services. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
