SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 33 amends the New Mexico Subdivision Act.
Significant Issues
The substantive amendments to Senate Bill 33 changes the New Mexico Subdivision Act to: 1) shortens the time period within which land divisions cannot occur without being subject to the Act from five to three years; 2) requires a county which adopts stricter regulations to use the same definitions as the Act employs; 3) limits the ability of a county to force consolidation of contiguous parcels; and 4) makes certain technical language changes.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
There is no fiscal impact to state funds.
