SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
This bill appropriates $225.0 from the general fund to the Board of Regents of the New Mexico State University for the purpose of establishing a new distance education master's degree program in learning technologies, including faculty expenses and acquiring course supplies and computer equipment.
Significant Issues
According to the CHE, this bill would create a new student cohort-based master's level degree program in the College of Education to prepare teachers to integrate new technologies into the teaching and learning process.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $225.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY01 shall revert to the general fund.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
This bill would add 4.0 FTE to NMSU.
