SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 347 appropriates $125.0 to SDE to support educational programs at the Rio Grande school cluster in the South Valley of Albuquerque.
Significant Issues
This bill appropriates funds to support educational programs for schools outside of the state equalization guarantee.
The following are the schools in the Rio Grande Cluster: Adobe Acres Elementary; Armijo Elementary; Atrisco Elementary; Barcelona Elementary; Kit Carson Elementary; Los Padillas Elementary; Mountain View Elementary; Navajo Elementary; Pajarito Elementary; Valle Vista Elementary; Harrison Middle; Polk Middle; Ernie Pyle Middle; and Rio Grande High School.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
Senate Bill 347 appropriates $125.0 to SDE for expenditure in fiscal year 2001. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
SDE would allocate and monitor the funding.

This bill relates to SB2, SB405 and CS HB2/HAFC which contain general fund appropriations for operating costs of all 89 public school districts.
