SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
This joint memorial requests the department to reconstruct Gurley Drive in Gallup to ease congestion at the University of New Mexico Gallup Branch.
Significant Issues
The project calls for improvements to the only access and exit road to the UNM Gallup campus. Improvements consist of repaving Gurley Drive, curb and gutter, access improvements, sidewalks, various pavement markings, traffic signs, grade adjustment of several existing utilities and other various improvements associated with this project. Total cost of the project is $705.0.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
If the project is funded from the State Road Fund, the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for this area will be reduced by an equal amount. All available funds have already been programmed. There are no unallocated funds available for this or any other project.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
An agreement must be developed, executed and administered by the department.
OTHER SUBSTANTIVE ISSUES
The project is not on the state highway system nor in the department's STIP.
