AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR WATER CONSERVATION PROJECTS TO MANAGE NON-NATIVE VEGETATION SUCH AS SALT CEDAR.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to support the soil and water conservation districts in northeast New Mexico in water conservation projects to manage non-native vegetation such as salt cedar. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
