AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR BREAST AND CERVICAL CANCER SERVICES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million six hundred thousand dollars ($1,600,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to provide state matching funds for breast and cervical cancer services available under the federal Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention and Treatment Act of 2000 for uninsured women under age sixty-five who are identified as in need of treatment through the federal centers for disease control and prevention's early detection program. To be eligible for the services provided through this appropriation, a person shall not have health insurance or be eligible for medicaid. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
