AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO INCREASE COMMUNITY AWARENESS IN THE SHIPROCK AREA ABOUT DRIVING WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR OR DRUGS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to contract for services to increase community awareness in the Shiprock area of San Juan county about driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs by providing information about the effects of that crime on families and communities and the value of education, prevention and alcohol and drug treatment. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
