MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT TO FUND THE RURAL TRANSIT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eighty-three thousand dollars ($83,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state highway and transportation department for expenditure in fiscal year 2003 to fund the rural transit assistance program. This appropriation shall be used to match existing federal funds. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
