AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO RECRUIT AND RETAIN MORE NURSING FACULTY AND TO GRADUATE MORE NURSES AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY AT ALAMOGORDO.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred ninety thousand dollars ($790,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal years 2003 and 2004 for the associate of nursing degree program at New Mexico state university at Alamogordo to promote the graduation of more nurses, recruit qualified nursing faculty, provide nursing faculty with competitive salaries in the community and retain nursing faculty. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
