Your GOVERNMENT AND URBAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred



HOUSE BILL 585



has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:



1. On page 2, between lines 4 and 5, insert the following new subsection:



"C. The legislature further finds that persons who need adult services are best represented when consumers, family members, advocacy organizations, providers and other stakeholders are involved in decisions about the system of services and supports.".



2. Reletter the succeeding subsection accordingly.



3. On page 2, lines 21 through 25 and page 3, lines 1 through 3, strike Paragraphs (4) through (6) in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof:



"(4) work with consumers, advocacy organizations, providers, other departments, stakeholders and the legislative health and human services committee to develop a comprehensive plan to provide long-term care and related services for an older adult population; and



(5) develop a comprehensive plan to coordinate, reorganize and consolidate older adult services by June 30, 2004.".



4. On page 9, lines 7 through 10, strike Subsection B in its entirety.



5. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.,





and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
