AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE BEEN NEGATIVELY AFFECTED BY URANIUM MINING BY ESTABLISHING A URANIUM WORKERS OFFICE IN THOREAU.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 for the purpose of providing services to individuals who have been negatively affected by uranium mining by establishing a uranium workers office in Thoreau. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
