AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A HERITAGE AREA TO PRESERVE THE CULTURE, HERITAGE AND TRADITIONS OF SANTA FE, RIO ARRIBA AND TAOS COUNTIES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of northern New Mexico state school for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to develop educational and marketing materials, and sponsor community meetings and school visits for the establishment of a "heritage area" that would preserve the culture, heritage and traditions of Santa Fe, Rio Arriba and Taos counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
