AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A FAMILY STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIP PARENTING EDUCATION PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 for the purpose of expanding a family strengthening partnership parenting education program to improve parenting and life skills and to provide nutrition education and other services for low-income families in areas of Dona Ana, Luna, Otero and Sierra counties with high rates of adolescent substance abuse. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
