AN ACT

RELATING TO HEALTH; ALLOWING CERTAIN MINORS TO DONATE BLOOD OR BLOOD COMPONENTS WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT; PROHIBITING MINORS FROM RECEIVING COMPENSATION FOR A DONATION OF BLOOD OR BLOOD COMPONENTS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. BLOOD DONATION--MINORS.--A minor who is at least seventeen years of age may donate blood to a licensed, accredited or approved blood bank, storage facility or hospital without parental consent. A minor shall not receive monetary payment for a donation of blood or blood components.
