AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE COST-OF-LIVING INCREASES TO PROVIDERS AND TO REDUCE THE WAITING LIST FOR THE MEDICAID DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES WAIVER PROGRAM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Three million two hundred sixty-four thousand six hundred fifty-six dollars ($3,264,656) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 in the following amounts and for the following purposes:

(1) two hundred fifty thousand three hundred four dollars ($250,304) to provide cost-of-living increases for providers of early intervention developmental disabilities services in the family infant toddler program and to address recruitment, retention, employee health insurance, program liability insurance and other operational costs;

(2) one million four hundred four thousand three hundred fifty-two dollars ($1,404,352) to provide

cost-of-living increases for providers in the medicaid developmental disabilities waiver program and to address recruitment, retention, employee health insurance, program liability insurance and other operational costs; and

(3) one million six hundred ten thousand dollars ($1,610,000) to reduce the waiting list in the medicaid developmental disabilities waiver program by providing services to one hundred new clients.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
