AN ACT

MAKING APPROPRIATIONS TO REPLACE FEDERAL FUNDING FOR DRUG AND DWI COURTS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--

A. One million seven hundred seventy-seven thousand two hundred dollars ($1,777,200) is appropriated from the general fund to the administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to replace federal funds for juvenile and adult drug courts and DWI courts in the first, second, third, sixth, eighth, twelfth and thirteenth judicial districts and the Bernalillo county metropolitan court.

B. Thirty-nine thousand dollars ($39,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the second judicial district attorney's office for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to replace federal funds for adult drug court in the second judicial district.

C. One hundred sixty-two thousand one hundred dollars ($162,100) is appropriated from the general fund to the public defender's office for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to replace federal funds for juvenile drug court in the first, third, sixth, eighth and thirteenth judicial districts.

D. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 from an appropriation in this act shall revert to the general fund.
