SENATE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 1300

46TH LEGISLATURE - FIRST SESSION - 2003

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN TORRANCE COUNTY.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

• to the state agency on aging

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to renovate the senior center in Mountainair in Torrance county;

• to the state highway and transportation department

two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) for road repairs and equipment in Torrance county; and

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to plan, design, engineer and build the Tajique to Torreon loop and to improve county road 55 in Torrance county; and

• to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to design, construct, equip and furnish the medical facility in Estancia in Torrance county;

one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to purchase and install equipment for volunteer fire departments in Torrance county;

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to purchase and equip vehicles for the sheriff's department in Torrance county;

fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) to purchase computer equipment for the sheriff's department in Torrance county;

two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for a regional animal shelter in Torrance county; and

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for 911 equipment upgrades for the emergency dispatch system in Torrance county.
