AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE PRENATAL AND POSTNATAL HOME VISITATION SERVICES TO PARENTS GIVING BIRTH TO A FIRST CHILD.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to provide prenatal and postnatal home visitation services in certain counties throughout the state to families giving birth to a first child. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
