AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A STUDY OF ALTERNATIVES FOR RESOLVING PROBLEMS RELATED TO CHILDBIRTH HEALTH CARE SERVICES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico health policy commission for expenditure in fiscal years 2007 and 2008 to fund a study to examine alternatives for resolving problems related to reducing the injuries suffered in the course of childbirth, compensation for those injured in the course of childbirth and the cost and availability of malpractice insurance for childbirth health care professionals and institutions. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
