AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF THE HIGH PLAINS REGIONAL EDUCATIONAL COOPERATIVE'S FACILITY SERVICES SYSTEM.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to establish the high plains regional educational cooperative's facility services system to support rural schools in creating long-range facility plans, operational and preventive maintenance plans and long-range energy reduction plans and integrating state adequacy standards with individual community needs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
