AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CREATE THE BEN LUJAN LEADERSHIP AND POLICY INSTITUTE AT NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to create the Ben Lujan leadership and policy institute at New Mexico highlands university. The institute shall promote discussion of contemporary issues and nurture a new generation of leaders in conjunction with Harvard university and the Woodrow Wilson school of public policy at Princeton university. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
