    Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 817, as amended

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 1, line 22, strike "Unless" and insert in lieu thereof "Except as provided in Subsection B of this section, unless".

    2. On page 2, between lines 8 and 9, insert the following new subsection:

         "B. The prohibition on the discontinuance or disconnection of service pursuant to Subsection A of this section shall not apply in any current season for which the state does not provide money to the human services department for the low-income home energy assistance program in an amount at least equal to funds received from the federal low-income home energy assistance program in the prior fiscal year.".

    3. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.
