AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE HIGHER EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROGRAMS THAT INCLUDE SUICIDE AND BINGE-DRINKING PREVENTION AMONG POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Nine hundred seventeen thousand dollars ($917,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal years 2007 and 2008 to initiate, enhance and supplement behavioral health programs on community college and university campuses to address post-secondary student behavioral health needs, including suicide intervention and binge-drinking prevention education and services. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
