ECONOMIC AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ASSIST RURAL COMMUNITIES IN CREATING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to match federal funds and foundation grants and to make grants to assist rural communities in creating economic development projects from conception through implementation pursuant to the federal national rural development partnership. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
