AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR EDUCATIONAL TELEVISION INSTALLATIONS IN RURAL SCHOOL BUSES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to purchase and install televisions and VCR-DVD players for educational programming in rural school buses used on school bus routes that are at least thirty miles one way. The longest one-way routes shall be given first priority for installation. The public education department shall by rule provide for the types of educational programming that may be shown on school buses. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
