FOR THE LEGISLATIVE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING, EMPLOYMENT TRAINING AND OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES TO VETERANS WHO ARE HOMELESS OR EXPERIENCING A HOUSING CRISIS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the veterans' services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to contract with a not-for-profit organization that provides transitional housing services to veterans to provide housing, employment training and other support services to homeless veterans and veterans who are experiencing a housing crisis. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
