AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AQUIFER MAPPING AND MONITORING IN TAOS COUNTY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six hundred fifty thousand dollars ($650,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to pay for the bureau of geology and mineral resources to prepare aquifer maps and monitor aquifer conditions in Taos county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
