AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO CENTER FOR REGIONAL STUDIES FOR SCHOLARSHIPS, INTERNSHIPS, FELLOWSHIPS, RESEARCH GRANTS, DOCUMENTARIES AND LIBRARY COLLECTIONS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 and subsequent fiscal years for the center for regional studies at the university of New Mexico to provide undergraduate and graduate scholarships, fellowships and internships; support faculty research through grants; encourage faculty recruitment; produce film documentaries and collaborative projects about New Mexico and the United States-Mexico borderlands; and increase library collections and archives. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
