AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A VOLUNTARY STATEWIDE ELECTRONIC WASTE COLLECTION AND RECYCLING PILOT PROGRAM.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of environment for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to develop marketing, advertising and community education outreach programs for a voluntary statewide electronic waste collection and recycling pilot program.

          B. Expenditure of any of the money appropriated in Subsection A of this section is contingent upon the receipt of a matching effort of funds or services on behalf of computer manufactures and retailers to develop marketing and advertising programs for the pilot program.

          C. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
