AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A COMPREHENSIVE SECONDARY SCHOOL REFORM INITIATIVE IN THE LOS LUNAS SCHOOL DISTRICT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to fund a comprehensive secondary school reform initiative in the Los Lunas school district that focuses on leadership, counseling, classroom teaching and parent and community awareness. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
