AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CHICANO/HISPANO/MEXICANO STUDIES PROGRAM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO FOR TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSORSHIPS, LECTURERS, GRADUATE ASSISTANTS, COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 for instruction and general purposes to expand the university Chicano/Hispano/Mexicano

studies program to provide for tenure track assistant professorships, lecturers, graduate assistants, community outreach and curriculum development. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
