AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENTS OF NATIVE AMERICAN STUDENTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the Indian affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 for a study by the Santa Fe Indian school of performance levels and performance issues facing Indian students to enhance performance within the mandates of the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
