AN ACT

RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF LEGISLATIVE INTERIM COMMITTEES; PROVIDING FOR DEFERENCE TO STANDING COMMITTEES IN INTERIM COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. DEFERENCE TO STANDING COMMITTEES.--In appointing members to New Mexico legislative council-created interim committees, the appointing authorities of each house shall give deference to standing committee assignments of the respective bodies.
