SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 631 appropriates from the general fund to PED to increase funding for the pre-
kindergarten program of the Bernalillo Public Schools.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
House Bill 631 appropriates $500.0 from the general fund and is recurring. Any unexpended or
unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
According to PED, Bernalillo Public Schools has provided early childhood services since 1995,
serving over 800 families.
Bernalillo Public Schools currently provide early childhood program services to 166 children at
four sites:
