SUMMARY
Synopsis of HCPAC Amendment
The House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee amended House Bill 751. The amendment
strikes “cultural affairs department and inserts “state records center and archives”. The amend-
ment does not change the original intent of the bill.
Synopsis of Original Bill
House Bill 751 appropriates $25.0 from the general fund to DCA to fund the state historian’s fel-
lowship program for research in the state archives.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
House Bill 751 appropriates $25.0 from general fund and is recurring. Any unexpended or unen-
cumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.

According to DCA, the appropriation is directed to the Department of Cultural Affairs but the
State Historian is a staff member of State Records Center and Archives.
