SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 108 appropriates $50.0 from the general fund to the Administrative Office of the Dis-
trict Attorneys (AODA) for the purpose of conducting a study analyzing the creation of a state-
wide tracking system for crimes against children. The bill also requires that AODA report to and
make recommendations to the New Mexico Crimes Against Children Task Force and an interim
legislative committee regarding the possibility of creating the statewide tracking system.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $50.0 contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the general fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert
to the general fund.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The AODA is responsible for providing administrative and information technology support to
the district attorneys offices statewide and the agency’s staff specializes in these areas. The ap-
propriation contained in this bill would be best applied to hire a term employee to conduct such a
study.
