A MEMORIAL

DECLARING JANUARY 25, 2006 AS "ALBUQUERQUE TECHNICAL- VOCATIONAL INSTITUTE DAY" AT THE LEGISLATURE.

 

     WHEREAS, since 1965, Albuquerque technical-vocational institute has provided "education you can use"; and

     WHEREAS, an education from Albuquerque technical- vocational institute has helped hundreds of thousands of individuals improve their quality of life; and

     WHEREAS, Albuquerque technical-vocational institute is considered New Mexico's premier community college; and

     WHEREAS, it is building a regional and national reputation for its high-quality training, innovative programs and positive impact on economic development; and

     WHEREAS, it has earned state and national awards for quality; and

     WHEREAS, it enjoys high satisfaction rates with students, faculty and staff, alumni, employers and the community at large; and

     WHEREAS, on July 1, 2005, Albuquerque technical-vocational institute marked its fortieth anniversary and began a year-long commemoration of its successes; and

     WHEREAS, the senate of the state of New Mexico desires to recognize Albuquerque technical-vocational institute for its forty years of invaluable contributions to the greater Albuquerque area and the state of New Mexico;  

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that January 25, 2006 be declared "Albuquerque Technical-Vocational Institute Day" at the legislature.
