AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO ASSIST MINORITY-OWNED AND IMMIGRANT-OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES IN SANTA FE COUNTY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the economic development department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to coordinate access for small businesses, including, but not limited to, minority-owned and immigrant-owned small businesses in the northern New Mexico region, to all programs that will enhance their growth and the growth of the job base. All coordination will be done through personal consultations with individual businesses and offered in a bilingual format as needed. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
