AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO INCREASE FUNDING FOR HOMELESSNESS PROGRAMS STATEWIDE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to expand funding for homelessness programs statewide through coordination of a statewide not-for-profit entity that serves to coordinate programs to support the homeless population and to prevent homelessness. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
