    Your HEALTH AND GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 235

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 2, line 4, strike "lost" and insert in lieu thereof "foregone".

     2. On page 2, between lines 22 and 23, insert the following new subsection:

          "C. The department is authorized to request from a state agency or a local government agency or official, information necessary to complete the tax expenditure budget required by this section. An agency or official shall comply with a request made pursuant to this section by the department.".

     3. Reletter the succeeding subsection accordingly.

     4. On page 3, line 2, strike "severance taxes" and insert in lieu thereof "taxes levied on natural resource production and sale".

     5. On page 3, strike lines 7 through 11 and insert in lieu thereof:

                "(2) "tax expenditure" means a deduction, credit, exemption, exclusion, preferential tax rate, subtraction or allowance that reduces tax liability when compared with a normal tax system as determined by the secretary; and".,

and thence referred to the TAXATION AND REVENUE COMMITTEE.
