    Your BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 398

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 1, line 11, strike "EMERGENCY" and insert in lieu thereof "SUPPLEMENTAL".

     2. On page 1, line 12, insert a comma after "PHYSICIANS", strike "AND" and after "MIDWIVES" insert "AND LICENSED MIDWIVES".

     3. On page 1, line 19, before "malpractice" insert "supplemental" and after "midwife" insert ", licensed midwife".

     4. On page 1, line 19, after "who" strike the remainder of the line, strike line 20 in its entirety, strike line 21 through "child" and insert in lieu thereof "provides birthing services for low-income New Mexicans".

     5. On page 2, line 4, after "midwife" insert "or midwife".

     6. On page 2, line 6, after "medicaid" insert "or indigent".

     7. On page 2, line 7, after "midwife" insert ", midwife".,

and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
