AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO COMMISSION AN ARTISTIC COMPETITION TO DESIGN A STATE MONUMENT HONORING THE HISTORY OF LABOR IN NEW MEXICO.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the cultural affairs department for expenditure in fiscal years 2008 and 2009 to commission a statewide competition to design a monument honoring the history of labor in New Mexico and to celebrate working people in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
