AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE NON-NATIVE PHREATOPHYTE REMOVAL AND RIPARIAN RESTORATION AND FOREST HEALTH MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Ten million dollars ($10,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal years 2008 and 2009 to manage and administer non-native phreatophyte removal and riparian restoration with the advice of the soil and water conservation commission and according to the non-native phreatophyte/watershed management plan program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
