AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SCIENCE AND MATH PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS FOR TEACHERS OF STUDENTS IN KINDERGARTEN THROUGH TWELFTH GRADE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for science and math professional development workshops for teachers of students in kindergarten through twelfth grade statewide. The appropriation will fund up to forty science and math teachers per workshop in each of the six regional science and engineering fair locations in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
