AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE FAMILY OPPORTUNITY FUND.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the family opportunity fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 and subsequent fiscal years for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of the Family Opportunity Accounts Act; provided that, if another law enacted by the first session of the forty-eighth legislature changes the name of the family opportunity fund and the Family Opportunity Accounts Act, then the appropriation shall be made to the fund as renamed in that other law for the purpose of carrying out the act as renamed in that other law. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
