AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO INCREASE PAYMENTS TO CERTAIN HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

          Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the medical assistance division of the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to increase reimbursements for obstetrical services under the medicaid fee-for-service and managed care programs, including deliveries, to ensure access to these services and to offset the cost of medical malpractice insurance. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
