AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO TO EXPAND THE NURSING PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million two hundred thirty-seven thousand dollars ($2,237,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for the college of nursing program to expand enrollment and alleviate the shortage of nurses in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
